MEIBC Wage Increases – 2019/20

On the 20th of June 2019, the MEIBC Announced it’s annual wage increase which is valid from the 1st of July 2019 to the 30th of June 2020.

The Increase is 6.5% on current rates, which also affects the current Minimum Wages per Category.

From the 1st of July 2019 MEIBC Employees must be paid as follows:

Employees earning above the minimum wage are entitled to a 6.5% increase on their ordinary rates.

    I have 4 weldgun repairmen under my control and they have requested me to find out what the salary increases for MEIBC members is for 2020 and when is it due?

      Hi Nigel, in terms of the agreement reached between parties at the MEIBC and depending on specific affiliations, there should be no increase for 2020.

      I assume you are referring to the MEIBC wage increase which is due on 1 July 2021? At present the engagements between organized labour and employers are ongoing.

      It appears that SEIFSA (The Employers’ Organisation) have tabled an offer of 4% for year one and 3% or CPI (Whichever is the higher) for year 2 and 3. Unions have until 28 July to respond to the offer.
